Autumn Mist Farm has been raising Romney and Romney-Lincoln cross sheep for the last 26 years. I have found their fleeces to be very adaptable to both handspinning as well as needle felting. Their wool has a natural luster which adds to the handspun wool and also to the hand felted sculptures. In the needle felting process, I find that the Romney and Romney-Lincoln wool gives the sculpture more stability than the finer sheep wools. It is very important to have a firmly needle felted piece. This ensures that your sculpture will hold its form and last for many years of enjoyment.
