Autumn Mist Farm is not just about the animals as you have seen on our main homepage. We also have products straight from the farm. All the wool that is sheared from the sheep in the spring is turned into some wonderful handmade products. The wool is washed, carded, and spun by Roxanne, who has been a handspinner for more than 25 years. It is dyed right on the farm into many wonderful colors. It is from all this hardwork that many knitted products are made. In order to be more energy conscious we use our 1898 cookstove to do much of our dying. Much of the stitching of our pocketbooks, tablerunners and center pieces is done on our 1907 treadle sewing machine.

The wool is also turned into some very eclectic hand felted characters. For the last five years she has been focusing on needle felting or dry felting, which is sculpting wool into dolls and animals of her own creation. This is accomplished with the use of a small barbed needle. Most of her work will be one of a kind creations. With the exception of a few in which she will offer in a limited number. As with most artists her focus is on uniquness not production. She wants you to enjoy these sculpted pieces as much as she has creating them.
